Verseworks was produced at the University of Wisconsin in spring of 2007.
This orginal script was created as training vehicle for five women and five men. The production followed five pairs of lovers through excerpts from Lope de Vega’s Fuentaovejuna and El Mejor mozo de España, Calderon’s El Médico de su Honra, Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra, and poetry from the period. Students worked text in English and Spanish, learned period dance, and each explored a "leading role" in 17th century drama.
